of INDIA in
CANADA
Year of India
in Canada is a campaign designed to offer
Canadians an opportunity to know more about
India, its diversity, its colourful culture,
ancient traditions, bounteous nature and so
much more. It
is a bi-Governmental initiative
between Indian and Canada to designate and
celebrate the year of 2011 as the Year of
India in Canada.
SOUTH ASIAN HERITAGE MONTH:
**MAY**
On Dec 14, 2001,
the Government of
Ontario proclaimed the month of May as South
Asian Heritage Month presenting an
opportunity for the people of Ontario to
learn more about the contributions, rich
culture and traditions South Asians bring to
the province.
South Asian Heritage Month is a time to pay
tribute to the accomplishments of people of
South Asian descent and the members of the
South Asian community who continue to
contribute to the social, cultural, economic
and political life of the province of
Ontario.
